Vou comecar a escrever mais (com ou sem acentos) sobre a minha peculiar forma de entender Tokyo, os Japoneses e sua forma de perceber a quantidade cada vez maior de estrangeiros que habitam essa cidade e que pagam mais impostos cada vez mais caros para morar em lugar que nao faz sentido nenhum e faz todo o sentido ao mesmo tempo.
Como li em algum lugar, Tokyo foi concebida sem planejamento nenhum, enfrentou um grande incendio, alguns terremotos e a quantidade de bombas que os americanos soltaram aqui durante a II guerra, causou mais destruicao do que as bombas de Hiroshima e Nagasaki juntas. Entao por isso em Tokyo voce ve um templo e logo ao lado uma escola, vizinha de um Mcdonald's que fica em frente a um cemiterio, que por sua vez encontra-se ao lado de um hospital e assim por diante.
E o mais engracado e que e quase como um ciclo por toda a cidade e nao so em alguns pontos isolados.
Neste album o classudo produtor frances DJ Cam nos presenteia com uma belissima selecao de tracks no melhor estilo easy listening,R&B, soulfull Jazz??? So ouvindo. Na verdade o album nao chega a ser dele e sim de sua protege, a competentissima cantora francesa InLove que com vocais doces e suaves nos leva por essa nao declarada homenagem a grande Minnie Ripperton. Existe ate uma musica dedicada a ela. Eu sou fa do cara e essa mina canta muito, o disco soa muito bem e o passeio de 40 minutos pelos tracks acaba quando a recem parece ter comecado. Vale a pena. Heavily infuenced by Minnie Riperton (there’s even a song named after her) this mixes downtempo soul with more upbeat tracks.

Apresento-lhes uma das minhas rappers/cantoras favoritas, ela e de Tokyo e apesar de nao entender muito do que ela rima da pra sentir que vem do coracao. A mina tem uma pegada NYC jazzie (porem muito propria) que nao deixa nada a dever pra ninguem mesmo. Na minha opiniao o som dela e a cara daqui, e da pra sentir isso nos sons mais antigos e principalmente na fodastica Michibata, que pelo que entendi quer dizer algo como perto ao lado da avenida. Dizem tambem que a mina destroi ao vivo, no video do you tube la em baixo da pra se ter uma ideia, feio ela nao faz mesmo.... Os dois primeiros discos sao muito ponta firme, bagulho underground, pra dar o play e esquecer. Os outros 2 ja sao bem mais pop mas tem coisa boa ali no meio.
Little background info do I have about this amazing Japanese rapper, but what I do know is that COMA-CHI is one of Japan’s best female rappers (if not the best of them all). She has an old school but unique style which is probably best seen in my favorite song, Michibata (Roadside). Unfortunately like with most artists that get signed, also COMA-CHI has become more of a mainstream artist. But even though many songs have a mainstream feeling to them, there are a few gems in there. Being mainstream is of course not always a bad thing, in this case it just shows that COMA-CHI is not just a good rapper, but a damn good singer as well. Personally I prefer the old school and jazzy songs when it comes to hip-hop/rap though. Oh and I don’t think you’ll find a cooler Japanese girl out there, I challenge you to prove me wrong!

COMA-CHI começou suas atividades na cena musical em março de 2003, construindo sua reputação através de apresentações em Tóquio e de participações em batalhas de MCs. Sua popularidade também cresceu com sua atividade em street cyphers, rap freestyle apresentado na rua. As habilidades de COMA-CHI foram demonstradas em apresentações com artistas como RIP SLYME e Miliyah Kato, e, em 2005, ela foi a primeira mulher a comandar a B-BOY PARK MC Battle.
Em 2006, COMA-CHI lançou seu primeiro álbum solo, DAY BEFORE BLUE. Seu mundo musical único, criado através de letras sensíveis, rimas sólidas e influências do hip hop dos anos 90, chamou atenção, e a popularidade do álbum explodiu nos rankings musicais apenas uma semana após o lançamento. Suas atividades continuaram a crescer e, em 2007, COMA-CHI se tornou membro as Jazzy Sport Productions. Mais tarde no mesmo ano, ela foi chamada de "um dos dez rappers japoneses do futuro" na BLAST, uma revista de música urbana.

On "U Can’t Lurn Imaginashun" Vadim hits every note and every colour, not just the black and white ones. Like all Vadim projects, the songs here are fresh, funky and fun. There are reggae rubs that could sit next to Desmond Decker ; neo-soul and conscious-rap jams that recall Q Tip or Jill Scott ; experimental gems akin to the work of Flying Lotus or J Dilla. Mostly though it’s the sound of music being embraced and loved, and of a re-inspired life being lived. If ATCQ hadn’t already used Beats, Rhymes & Life as an album title, it would be equally suitable here… Dj Vadim it's one of the best, most creative and soul deeper dj/producers nowadays. The record catches him at that perfect point when he was turning from a straight jazz player into a sinister force in 70s funk -- and the group on the session includes super-hip soul jazz giants like Charles Tolliver, Sonny Fortune, and Harry Whitaker, running through short hip soul tracks that were very different than the style of music they were laying out on albums of their own. Roy's on organ, piano, vibes, and vocals -- and he also handles the arrangements, with extra help on strings by William S Fischer, whose usual dark touches come across very well here. As faixas soam praticamente em unissono do inicio ao fim, voce nem percebe o tempo passando enquanto o chiado original dos vinis usado nesta compilacao cria uma atmosfera praticamente unica. Light Up the Night marked the end of an era for the Brothers Johnson -- it was the last of four albums that Quincy Jones produced for the Los Angeles siblings, and it was the last time a Brothers Johnson album was truly excellent instead of merely decent. When Jones was producing the Brothers Johnson's albums from 1976-1980, he gave them something their subsequent albums lacked -- consistency. Even though George and Lewis Johnson recorded some decent material after Light Up the Night, none of their post-Jones albums had the type of consistency that Jones gives this 1980 release. The album gets off to an impressive start with the major hit "Stomp!" (a definitive example of the smooth, sleek brand of funk that was termed sophisticated funk in the late '70s and early '80s), and the tracks that follow are equally memorable.
